Homemade Notebooks from Book Binding Rings

This has been a huge hit on my Old World Charm - Modern Living site. I hope you get a kick out of it. I've continued to make these as I need them. The extra large one I made below I destroyed to use the rings, since I didn't need the binder anymore. The biggest tip I'd suggest, and that I don't mention below, is maybe to use a thicker cardboard, or double it up. If you're like me, you need the durability, but for everyday purposes, the below work great. The best part of this project is what I mentioned above. If you get sick of it (I become far too bored with things and change them around a lot) you can rip it up, make a new one, or just destroy. Feels nice to destroy sometimes, doesn't it? =================================================================== Homemade Notebook  from book binding rings Makes: one Size: Depends on the rings you use. I made a 1 1/2" using 3 rings, and another 3 1/2" using two sets of 1 1/2 rings. I'l...

Book Review: What To Do Before You Say "I Do."

I usually don't do too many reviews on my own site. I stick with Goodreads, or where I bought them. Mostly Amazon. But I thought that this book definitely could use a personal review on my site, as well as the other sites. It's just that good. This book, What to do Before You Say "I do" looked promising from the description and it didn't disappoint. Whether or not you're in a relationship now, or sometime hope to be in the future, this has a lot of great information on learning who you are as a partner, who they may be, or who you will be compatible with. As well as why you may be having such a rocky relationship currently. There are mini quizzes for you and a partner to take, or just you (as I did) to determine more about who you are in specific ways. Like one on whether you are an optimist or pessimist, and to what level. If you're low, medium, or high. I love that Susan didn't spend the entire book talking about things and just went straig...

What POV do you enjoy reading/writing in books?

I've been reading--shocking I'm sure--a lot of e-books lately. Not just for pleasure, or reviewing, but also for education. I like to see what other authors write like, how they do their words, and the point-of-views that they write from. See how they do it, learn the process, better my craft, and also to see what is most popular in each genre, and all the books written, in general. It led me to google it. Crazy, right?

Dark Illusions: The Beginning Official Page

Dark Illusions: The Beginning The Awakened have existed since time began. Always there; never seen. Vampires with the ability to shapeshift into wolves, who retain many of the wolf abilities. The clans have long since lived in peace with humans by an old order of law: nobody is to be Awakened without the Prince’s command. Those who do not follow the order of the prince, will meet true death. These laws were put in place to protect the humans and the Awakened so that they may co-exist peacefully—though some clans believe those rules outdated. ... The Raaka have been idle far too long. They find no reason to peacefully live alongside humans. They believe humans were put on this earth for food and that’s it. It is time for the Runsasi Prince to step down and the Raaka clan to claim their rightful place as the true Leaders. The Raaka Leader finds a woman who he believes will give him the advantage he’s been seeking for so long . . . a way in to the position he so crave...
