Poem - Tough Times

Thought I'd re-post some of my old work while trying to update all my networking sites. Here's a poem written a few years ago! Poem - Tough Times   (March 13, 2009) Though there are tough times here and near There still shines a brightness within When times get tough and hopelessness sets in Remember the strength lies within To conquer, overcome, and come out above For without this test You’d never feel pain You couldn't truly appreciate the joy You wouldn't be alive So take that baby step forward For soon it will be miles And know you are never alone And as a special way of giving back, not just the advertising of all the wonderful blogs under my blogger friends link, but I thought I'd link a blog I've read that day, or previous days, to feature to drive up others' traffic as well. I want to help them just as much as they help me when I read what they post! So today's featurette will be to the abso

I plan on taking over the world , and dominating the online world with my Questions  posting them on every service that people who may want to participate are on . I've been holding back on posting them all over but frankly, I'm sick of it. Tired of holding myself back for anyone as I'm done with it all. SO. I will be posting the Questions everywhere I am/can, which means the sites that I'm on, even if I'm not active on them. You may answer wherever you wish, but I will enable FB comments along with Blogger comments on my s

E-book/Digital book formatting basics tips and tricks

E-book formatting tips for all my lovelies who've been wanting some help and what I've been reading on all the sites. Information for those getting into it, and if you have done it, feel free to add to what I've added, or let me know of things that have changed, whatnot. This is all things I've learned right now, but can change. Info: 1) Don't have more than five hard returns (clicking the enter button) between paragraphs, headings, what have you. It ends up reading wrong on the e-reader and you'll end up with blank pages. 2) Indent using Microsoft's formatting, not the Tab button. If you don't know how, go into your paragraph formatting and you'll see the Indents and Spacing, then Indentation, then in the drop-down menu, you'll see "Special" and "First Line" and choose .5 or less. .25 (have to manually type it in probably like I did) is better, unless you want a large looking gap between the side edge and the inde

Some really adorable ideas!

From here - http://mrg.bz/BsegVh Okay, so I got my daily dose of Jenny on the Spot this afternoon while I ate (yes... I read while I eat) and if you haven't read her, you MUST! This is the blog post from today - Socio and Enviro-minded Gift-giving . Which led me to this one about Leg Warmers! How freaking cute are they? I'm so trying them. As a girl who has an extreme amount of "I is COLD" moments, I can fully appreciate the snuggly goodness of leg-warmers inside meh boots. Which by the way, if you don't know? I LOVES. Another blog of note that you must, must, must (that's a lot of musts because you what? MUST) check out is Home Stories A to Z and  the post from today... well, yesterday, but I just read it today, isssss (drumroll here) this one - Chocolate Covered Christmas Cake Balls {cake ball} . I'm getting that. Look at those possibilities! Instant brownie bites? You can read the comment at the bottom I left, but the possibilitie

My dear fellow bloggers and readers I've found a prize!

From - http://mrg.bz/xqZicj - morguefile So I'm not entirely sure how I found this site, but I just entered the gates of Utopia and got a glimpse! [insert angel song here] Okay, so technically I'm a total book-crazed girl who loves to read so to MOI that is my version of Utopia. Endless books I can read, I just have to offer up a review as well! http://booksneeze.com/ the site. a.k.a. Utopia If you haven't heard of it, let me explain a bit. You're a blogger and you like to read. Check. You send an application (moi did) and they approve or not. Check. You sign up to read a book and they send you a copy, you read, you review, and post it on your blog. Check check check. You know, if I get approved and all. [crosses fingers and wishes reallllllllly hard] That's it! How cool is that?! Applause. Oh no, I'm applausing myself. Whether or not I get approved, I am letting you know about it because I think that is an absolutely wonderful way

Tell me your ideas

So I've been thinking about this for a while and wanted to get your opinion on it finally. I was thinking about the way that other authors will tend to make fan pages, and blogs, just for their books (or series) as a way for fans to interact more with them, and the like. So I was wondering YOUR opinions on doing just that for my books as well BUT Instead of just having it a fan page, the thing I would do was take it one step further. I would include "lost diaries" or "deleted scenes (lost pages)" much in the same way that movies now have a behind-the-scenes ability with their DVD's where you can explore and watch other parts of the movies being made. Now obviously the blogs/fan pages would end up with the similar ideas of updates on the upcoming releases, deals, etc., however, I'd take it one step further and make it so that people who purchased the book and were fans, would have the ability to go there to the sites and read actual lost entri

I can't take it anymore!!!

So. Yeah. I'm tired of being dark brown. Really, I'm not that dark. I keep choosing colors that pretty much look just like I was born with them and this one is no different. Thanks to the lovely Jo ( Her Blogies ) who advised me to use the "L'oreal Dark Brown (Natural)" as opposed to the L'oreal Dark Chocolate Brown (Warmer) as I was (because I wanted to erase my natural reddish tendencies and really go BROWN, not red) I actually got a more dark brown. The one I used "L'oreal Dark Brown (Natural)" And then I used WEN . No offense to Chaz Dean cause I loves him and he's too adorable but... it washed the color out so I'm left with more of a Dark Chocolate Brown (as in red highlights and caramel are showing up more than dark brown). Oh boy oh boy. More of what it turned out to be NOW. After messing with the Wen. "L'oreal Dark Chocolate Brown (Warmer)" Is it because I did anything wrong? Oh no, not at all. I ju

Finding peace in this time of year

{EAV:0b9b4dd981399387} What is it about this time of year which is automatically stress producing? I find that I'm constantly behind and playing a game of catch up. I feel as though no matter what, I'm going to have a thousand things of which I just haven't accomplished that day and I will have to get them done tomorrow. It's not just me. Everyone gets more stressed out and rushed at this time of year and one has to ask themself... why? Why every year, without fail, does this have to be such a stressful time of year? What happened to the JOY of the holiday season when we're so busy rushing around trying to decorate, trying to buy gifts, entertain family that most of the time only get-together at this time of year because they have to, not want to, which ends up causing us more stress. It's better to take this time and reflect... and enjoy the season. Stop placing such demands on our own shoulders and say hey, I'm sitting on my butt and not moving

Friday Funday!

So I realize that it may be possible that my phone is malfunctioning because I have FAR too many photos on it. Is that possible? Well it's not MY problem that I have so many photo opportunities. Like... over 800 plus. Hey, no judgement. I'm just more special-er than you is all. You said it. It occurs to me I should probably go through them and delete some. Perhaps. When I remember. Eventually. So...

This is just a blog to test how my new app works

So I'll post pics! We went from Halloween to Fall here!

Dem darn leaves again!

My mom was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes on Halloween. Happy Halloween to you! I was about to say Merry Christmas. Hey, be lucky I even remember  that it was Halloween. My brain has become a freaky momma brain. I'm not sure where I was headed with that since I've covered it already. Have I? Oh yeah, last post. Speaking of which...

We all do it.

I was working out in the yard the other day (my big inspiration time) and I couldn't help but think about relationships that we have with people. I was thinking (I do that a lot I know) about how none of us really wants someone to build their lives around us and make us their entire happiness, or who we are, but then, isn't that what we end up doing? Think about it. So many older couples, or couples who've been together longer than a year end up doing so much together and losing a huge part of themselves  into  relationships. I'm not talking about being co-dependent or anything like that mind you. Simply things we, in the beginning, fear the other person doing. After all, we all know that to be truly happy as a couple, you need  to be happy separate from each other as well: having your own hobbies and interests, friends and relationships with others outside  of each other. But what's interesting to note is that when you are a part of a couple you do more thing

Gimme my ball! This is Amber. She likes her ball. What little jingly ball is her favorite? A cat ball. 'Nuff said. Hugs and Kisses and more to come!! Until next time! <3

My version of mornings aren't their version. Oy vey.

I would appreciate someone explaining to THEM that we don't go to bed at 11pm. Just to wake at 4:30 am. Would you kindly? I wake up to this. Well... 2 of them can climb up to my bed well. The rest I pick up so I don't hear squealing pigs. Sigh. Don't they understand that mornings don't even start until after 6am? Will someone please explain it to them? Kthanxbye Hugs and kisses and more to come! Til next time!! <3

There just arent very many trustworthy people in this world

You have to wonder if people know the value, or meaning, of trust anymore. It's hard to determine who we can trust with our secrets. Hard to tell who will not spread them further along than their own ears. It seems as though people are more interested in spreading gossip and gaining attention than in understanding that they had been entrusted with a piece of gold, something far more valuable than gold actually: a part of themselves that they trusted the person to keep. More times it seems now, that the people entrusted with those secrets wish to continue to spread the fire feuled by speaking them. But why? What really does one gain at the end of the day to not only start a wildfire, but to help continue it? Not even having considered that these are precious lives of people we are talking about. Every person has a story and every person has something that they wish to be able to share with the person they trust the most. How are they to know that the person they are tellin

Love you guys! Hugs and kisses and more to come!!! Til next time!! :)

Product Review: Moon Goddess Garden Body Souffle

I happened to be the lucky winner (yay!!! [jumps up and down]) for a contest I didn't even know I'd been in and what did I win? Well that's obvious isnt it? A Body Souffle!! No, not the stuff you eat. I said b-o-d-y. Anywho. I thought I'd start posting reviews for these things I get for free (read: FREE ; as in I love) from people that really deserve some credit for the great products they make. No I am NOT being paid, or even asked, to do this. However, you're welcome to ask me to review something for ya, but I no wants money for it! I chose the Moon Goddess Garden Mango Shea Body Souffle with the scent of French Lanvender. Me loves some scents of lavender. I opened the bag to find this... voila! (Pics attached of courses.) At first I went hmm, the scent might be too strong for me all the time as I like delicate scents, otherwise headache central, but when I put it on and it absorbed into my skin, I loved the scent! It's not a light lavender or a waytoo

(GBE 2:Blog On) First Love

Old post being reposted. GBE2: Blog On's Topic this week is: First Love Click the link to find out what GBE2: Blog On is and how YOU can participate. If you love writing and/or blogging, it's the place to go! Great people, great fun, what more could you ask for? FIRST LOVE When I first saw the topic for this week's GBE2, my first thought was of the friendship I walked away from just last week. He was one of my first love's. But I had already talked about it on a previous web post so I wanted something different. I just didn't want to focus on it. Today, while I was doing dishes, a.k.a inspiring myself, I thought of a different first love. To myself. I do too. I love myself. I may not always like myself... I mean come on, if you had to live with her 24/7 she might drive you batty too. But I do love myself. People can tell you so. I don't need to. Well I did, but... I'm digressing. I'm quirky, crazy (two different things there obbb

How to make your own blogger button on Blogger and post it to your sidebar!

This is a quick tutorial (i.e. very easy/basic) on how to make your very own blog button for others to share on their page. Really quite simple, I think the hardest part is making your own picture from scratch. At least for me it is. (GBE2: Blog On) Let go of the reins and you'll know freedom

This week's (4th) GBE2: Blog On topic is "Control." For more info head here I admit it, I'm a type-A personality. It was a learned behavior. I felt as though I needed to be in constant control of everything around me. I worked 3 jobs and went for weeks on occasion without a day off. I still felt as though I wasn't doing enough. Not around the house, not with my friends, not for dating, not even for work. I just have always had this "I'm not doing enough" attitude instilled in me from a lot of the immediate people around me. So a lot of my behavior was ingrained so deep that I still suffer with that. I feel as though no matter what, I'm not doing enough, being the best I can be, and all of that great unhealthy attitude one should not have. But I do. And I know it's not good, but I still suffer with feeling inadequate because I am just not doing enough. Which is wrong. It's just something that I suffer with. I admit to it.
